Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD)
If your child is highly argumentative, defiant, and vindictive, they may have ODD. They may argue with authority figures, blame others for their mistakes, and appear angry or irritable. ODD often presents with other mental health concerns like ADHD, separation anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. They are often at an increased risk of developing an anxiety disorder.
The best course of treatment is through parent management training, therapy, and medication management. I will collaborate with you to help you with healthy coping techniques to reduce your child’s negative behaviors and promote positive ones. I’ll also tailor your child’s treatment specifically to their needs, which may include referrals to behavior specialists within the school system.
