Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

ADHD is another pediatric mental health disorder that can be challenging for both the parents or caregivers and the child. A child with ADHD has significantly less control over their impulses than a neurotypical child, causing difficulties in school and social functioning. Typically, they have trouble paying attention in classes, conversations, and lengthy assignments and may appear not to be listening when spoken to directly.

Children with ADHD have trouble concentrating on any task at hand and tend to tap, fidget, and squirm. While it’s exhausting for parents, families, and teachers to handle children with ADHD, it’s important to remember that this is a neurodevelopmental disorder. They aren’t “acting out” to irritate others or for attention.

That’s why getting your child the help they need as soon as possible is crucial. I’m happy to work with you on getting your child an accurate diagnosis, followed by providing effective treatment, which may include therapy and medication management.
