Live a bit further out, or want flexibility around school and work? We also offer secure telehealth visits for patients anywhere in Florida — many families do their initial evaluation in-person and then use telehealth for follow-ups.

How To Get Started

From your first call to your first visit — often within a week.

01

Reach Out

Call our office to discuss what’s going on and determine whether we’re the right fit. We respond promptly and can answer any questions about the next steps.

02

Schedule Your Visit

If appropriate, we will help you schedule your initial evaluation at our Weston office. Same-week and evening appointments are often available — including for new pediatric patients.

03

Come In

Initial evaluations run 50–90 minutes. For pediatric patients, parents are typically present for part of the session. We take the time to actually understand the picture.

04

Ongoing Care

Follow-up visits in-person or via secure telehealth — whatever works for your life. Prescriptions sent to your local pharmacy. Direct text access between visits.
The Difference

The kind of psychiatrist you actually want.

One doctor. Same doctor every visit.

You won’t be rotated through a roster of providers or handed off to mid-levels. Dr. Parker personally sees every patient — initial evaluation, follow-ups, ongoing care.

Unhurried 50–90 minute evaluations.

Not 15-minute medication checks. The time it actually takes to understand a child’s history, hear a family’s concerns, and build a real plan.

The whole family, one psychiatrist.

Board-certified in both child & adolescent and adult psychiatry — uncommon dual training that lets us treat parents and children with the same continuity of care.

Direct, ongoing communication.

Text the practice directly between visits. Evening and weekend availability. We coordinate with schools, pediatricians, and therapists when needed.
His availability, even after hours and on weekends, is something you rarely see in this field. What stands out even more is the time he takes to truly get to know his patients. He listens, he welcomes feedback, and he adjusts treatment with genuine care and intention.

I believe Dr. Parker is a great doctor and an excellent human being. He takes his time to talk to the patient and the parents. He is very analytical and always looks for solutions. I have not found another psychiatrist as professional as him in the Miami Dade area.

Finding him was life-changing. After being bounced around from doctor to doctor during a moment of real desperation, we came across Dr. Parker — and it made all the difference. He works with the entire family.

Dr. Parker is a rare doctor who listens to parents and looks outside the box to find a solution that works. I pay for expensive insurance — but I choose to pay out of pocket for him because he is top notch.

Frequently Asked

Questions families ask us before booking.

How soon can my child or I be seen?

Answer: Same-week appointments are frequently available, including evenings and Saturdays. Once you reach out, we’ll typically have you scheduled within 2–5 business days. This is one of the main reasons families choose us — most insurance-based child psychiatrists in South Florida have 3–6 month waitlists.

Do you accept insurance?

Answer: No. We are a private-pay practice, which allows us to offer longer visits, faster appointments, and more personalized care than most insurance-contracted practices can provide. We’ll give you everything needed to file an out-of-network claim with your PPO insurance, and many patients receive 50–80% reimbursement. We do not work with Medicaid or Medicare patients.

What ages do you treat?

Answer: Dr. Parker is double board-certified in both child & adolescent psychiatry and general (adult) psychiatry. This means he treats elementary-age children, teens, young adults, and adults of any age. Families with multiple members needing care often appreciate having a single psychiatrist who can see everyone.

Can we do in-person and telehealth visits with the same psychiatrist?

Answer: Yes. Many of our families do their initial evaluation in-person at our Weston office — where Dr. Parker can really get to know your child or you — and then do routine follow-ups via secure telehealth for convenience. You can switch between formats at any time.

Where is the Weston office and how do I get there?

Answer: Our Weston office is at 1535 North Park Drive, Suite 103, Weston, FL 33326. It’s just off I-75 at the Royal Palm exit — easily accessible from Davie (~10 min), Cooper City (~10 min), Plantation (~15 min), Pembroke Pines (~15 min), and Fort Lauderdale (~20 min). Free parking directly at the entrance.

What should we expect at the first visit?

Answer: Plan for 50–90 minutes for an initial evaluation. For pediatric patients, parents are typically present for at least part of the session. Dr. Parker will review medical and family history, current concerns, school or work context, and any prior treatment. You’ll leave with a clear understanding of what’s going on and a concrete plan for next steps — whether that’s medication, therapy, both, or further evaluation.

Do you coordinate with my child's school or pediatrician?

Answer: Yes. With your permission, Dr. Parker regularly communicates with schools (counselors, teachers, IEP teams), pediatricians, therapists, and other providers involved in your child’s care. Coordinated care produces better outcomes — it’s a standard part of how we work, not an add-on.
